Alex Noren, Ryder Cupper. How does that sound?
It should sound like a reality after the former Oklahoma Stater’s 2018 French Open at Le Golf National — site of the 2018 Ryder Cup — on Sunday over the likes of Jon Rahm, Sergio Garcia and Justin Thomas. Noren, who trailed by seven (!) entering the final round, shot a 4-under 67 (including a 32 on the back nine) that was enough to squeak past Russell Knox, Julien Suri and Chris Wood by one each. Noren finished at 7 under for the week after a 65-67 weekend.
The win was the 10th for Noren on the European Tour in his career, and it was also maybe the most unexpected.
