Alex Dieringer wins gold at 2019 Dan Kolov International

Alex Dieringer dominated his way to a 10-0 first-period technical fall to defeat Omarakhab Nazhmudinov of Romania for gold at 79 kilograms/174 pounds at the Dan Kolov International on Friday in Ruse, Bulgaria.

Dieringer made quick work of Nazhmudinov, who was third in this year’s under-23 World Championship, with a takedown just 40 seconds in. The three-time NCAA champion from Oklahoma State added another takedown before driving Nazhmudinov out of bounds on a double-leg takedown to complete the 10-0 technical fall with 4:12 left in the first.

Dieringer outscored his four opponents 37-0 in the tournament, which is the second UWW ranking tournament for men’s and women’s wrestling.
