STILLWATER — Kendal Daniels is the highest-rated defensive back prospect the Cowboys have ever landed, according to 247Sports, and all early signs point to him being let loose in Bryan Nardo’s 3-3-5 scheme.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 213 pounds, Daniels is a physical specimen. He’s the tallest and heaviest defensive back on the Cowboys’ roster. The Big 12’s Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2022, Daniels recorded 71 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, a forced fumble and five pass breakups. But in Nardo’s new scheme, the redshirt sophomore’s role should increase even further in 2023.
“I feel like it don’t feel no different than how I felt last year,” said Daniels after the first practice of fall camp.
