Oklahoma State didn’t look like the elite team that everyone was expecting in the first game of the shortened season, but there are some positives and negatives to take away from the Cowboys 16-7 season-opening win against Tulsa.
The defense was elite
The OSU defense shouldered the load almost entirely in the game, and it was up for the challenge, allowing less than 300 total yards and less than 200 passing. Last season, Zach Smith threw for 228 yards and a touchdown and Keylon Stokes had seven catches for 109 yards.
