Cowgirl Stadium had so far been quiet as outfielder Lexi McDonald walked up to the plate.
Oklahoma State was hosting Kansas, which did damage early and had OSU fans surprised. The Jayhawks sliced five hits off star pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl, which generated two runs and a 2-0 lead through their first two series of at-bats.
McDonald, though, woke up the ones in orange when it was her turn to bat in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded, McDonald ripped a double down the first-base line, which scored three and turned KU’s 2–0 spot to a 3-2 Cowgirl lead.
