Recruiting is a fickle beast. Take four-star QB Grant Gunnell for example: one minute he’s trending OSU’s direction, and the next, Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes have stolen all the momentum. It leaves OSU now searching for a contingency plan should he ultimately land in Columbus.
Fortunately for OSU, QB is far from the highest priority in the 2019 cycle. With freshman Spencer Sanders representing the future at the position, QB appears to be set. But recruiting depth — and a future challenger for him — is of the utmost importance.
So where might OSU turn should plans to reel in Gunnell fall through this cycle?
