Oklahoma State wrapped up the first session of the NCAA Wrestling Championships in third place at 14.5 points Thursday, sending seven of its nine wrestlers to the second round of the championship brackets at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Penn State, who has won three straight NCAA titles, holds the team lead with 21 points over Big 10 conference rival Ohio State at 15.5. The Cowboys have a half point edge of Iowa and 1.5-point lead on Minnesota.
The Cowboys went 8-2, including five bonus-point wins from Nick Piccininni (125), Daton Fix (133), Kaid Brock (141), Preston Weigel (197) and Derek White (heavyweight).
