The Oklahoma State wrestling team advanced seven wrestlers to the quarterfinals Thursday at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
The Cowboys matched Penn State with seven quarterfinalists, but the Nittany Lions hold the team lead with 30.5 points. Ohio State is second (26), followed by Oklahoma State (25.5), Iowa (24.5) and Missouri (20) to round out the top five.
Nick Piccininni (125), Kaid Brock (133), Dean Heil (141), Joe Smith (157), Chandler Rogers (165), Nolan Boyd (184) and Preston Weigel (197) will wrestle in the NCAA quarterfinals at 10 a.m. Friday.
Kyle Crutchmer (174) fell in the opening round while Anthony Collica (149) and Austin Schafter (285) each dropped a decision in the second round.
