Iowa State’s seasons of amazing quarterback stories continues.
Redshirt freshman Zeb Noland of Watkinsville, Georgia, relieved injured starter Kyle Kempt late in the second quarter Saturday against Oklahoma State and nearly rallied the Cyclones to victory.
OSU won 49-42, but not before Noland completed 17 of 28 passes for 263 yards. Noland took the Cyclones the length of the field before A.J. Green’s interception a lob pass with 32 seconds left, on a play that started at the OSU 3-yard line.
“We’ve always recruited guys that fit our system,” Iowa State coach Matt Campbell said.
Noland was one of three Cyclone quarterbacks to produce touchdown drives against OSU.
