MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The wind howled and the temperature dropped and the parking space didn't really develop, so the tailgating didn't really mesh outside the Youngstown bus Saturday.
But no matter. Some of the Stoops family was together, surrounded by lifelong friends, and the Oklahoma football team had made its biennial trip to the Allegheny Mountains. So the Youngstown bus was roaring.
Parked alongside the hillside road that leads to the West Virginia Law School, Bob Stoops' family and friends laughed and partied and told stories and waited with anticipation for the OU-West Virginia game.
“We love when he comes close to us,” said 31-year-old Ron Stoops, the son of Bob's brother, Youngstown State assistant coach Ron Stoops, who is the oldest son of Dee and the late Ron Stoops.
