Former Oklahoma cornerback Demontre Hurst was one of two in-state defensive backs selected in Wednesday’s XFL Draft.
Hurst and former Tulsa safety Dexter McCoil were both selected in the defensive backfield portion of the draft. The draft was set to conclude Wednesday afternoon with an open portion for special teams players and any remaining players in the pool.
Hurst was picked by the Tampa Bay Vipers in the final selection of Round 3. Two picks later, the St. Louis BattleHawks picked McCoil.
Hurst played parts of three seasons with the Chicago Bears after playing four seasons for the Sooners.
