The Sooners showed their improvement Saturday with 12 tackles for loss — their most since tying that mark against West Virginia in 2015 — and brought down UCLA freshman quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson six times for sacks.
In recent years, the spot occupied first by Eric Striker and then Ogbonnia Okoronkwo had been the source of the majority of pressure Oklahoma's defense was able to apply.
But Saturday, it came from all over the field.
Okoronkwo's replacement, Mark Jackson, had his hand in one sack with linebackers Bolton and Kenneth Murray got to Thompson-Robinson as well. Defensive lineman Ronnie Perkins got another.
