As Sherri Coale exited the Alamodome in the aftermath of Oklahoma's 12-point national championship loss to Connecticut in 2002, Geno Auriemma called out to her.
Coale, then just six years into her tenure with the Sooners, turned back to talk to the Huskies' head coach.
“You think this is how it's supposed to be all the time now,” Coale remembers Auriemma telling her fresh off of his third national championship and second undefeated season. “Like you're going to think this is what you should do every year, play in the national championship game.
