Bo Overton has coached on just about every level of women’s basketball.
Now, he can add NCAA Division II to the list.
Overton was officially introduced Monday as the new women’s basketball coach at Oklahoma Baptist University. He leaves Oklahoma City University after five wildly successful years, three of which were 30-wins seasons including an NAIA national title in 2017.
“I just felt like going into the NCAA, it’s just another level of play,” Overton said. “The conference, the competition, it’s just another level.”
Overton also felt a strong connection to Oklahoma Baptist. He grew up in Norman, played college ball at OU and spent much of his coaching career in the area not far from the Shawnee college.
