KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The first-round games at the Big 12 Basketball Tournament on Wednesday looked the same as they would any other year.
Fans wearing gear for every color of team in the conference filled the stands of the Sprint Center as Oklahoma State and Iowa State played in the tournament's opening game. Pep bands played on opposite sides of the court. OSU’s pom squad performed at halftime.
It will be a different scene Thursday.
Minutes before the Cowboys and Cyclones tipped off, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby announced that fan access will be limited for the men’s and women’s tournaments starting Thursday.
