For college football players, the biggest perk is obvious: bowl swag.
College bowl game organizing committees are allowed to give players gifts that total north of $500. Schools and conferences are allowed to give items that value up to $400 apiece, too. That means a total value of more than $1,300. But not all bowl game prize packages are the same.
The most common gift is a "gift suite," which, according to Sports Business Daily, is "a portable store set up on campus or at a venue in the game's host city, where players browse through a variety of items, then have up to $550 worth of those goodies shipped to the address of their choice.
