NORMAN — Riley Nolan credits a starting NFL defensive tackle for giving him the confidence to walk on at Oklahoma.
“Brandon Williams is a huge reason I’m here,” Nolan said.
As a true freshman at Missouri Southern, Nolan practiced against Williams, now a starter for the Baltimore Ravens.
“We’d do one-on-ones every day, and I’d have to block Brandon,” Nolan said. “He was a total freak, so I knew that I had what it took if I got that chance to play at OU, maybe I could do something.”
Nolan, a junior offensive guard, is the latest to be featured in The Oklahoman’s Walk-on Wednesday series, which focuses each week on a non-scholarship OU football player.
