NORMAN—During his senior year at Norman, Cade NewHouse-Parker was called into his coach’s office.
That’s not a comfortable feeling for a high school student.
“How are you doing?” Tigers coach Greg Nation asked NewHouse-Parker.
After an unsure “fine, coach,” answer from his player, Nation set into the reason why he’d called NewHouse-Parker out of class.
“Oklahoma called today,” Nation said.
NewHouse-Parker was stunned. He’d just sent his film across town earlier in the week but then-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel jumped on it quick and called Nation to see if the linebacker would come to Oklahoma as a preferred walk-on.
