Here are five takeaways from Oklahoma's 63-51 season-ending loss to Virginia in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Too much post defense from Virginia
Against Ole Miss, the Sooners were able to live inside. Rashard Odomes and Kristian Doolittle were able to bully their way to the rim and helped put 95 points on the scoreboard. Against Virginia, it was a much different story. Cavs’ big man Mamadi Diakite protected the rim perfectly, and recorded three blocks just in the first half. As a team, Virginia had six before the break. That effort meant Odomes went scoreless in the first half, and he wasn’t alone -- the only Sooners to score before halftime were Doolittle, Brady Manek and Jamal Bieniemy.
