Ty Darlington Adds Another National Award to His 2015 Resume

Earlier in the day, as we reported in this space, he was awarded the Wuerffel Trophy for outstanding community service work to go along with academic and athletic achievement, and Tuesday night he was named the winner of the William V. Campbell Trophy.

The William V. Campbell Trophy is the most prestigious academic award bestowed on a scholar-athlete in college football every year. Darlington is the first Sooner football player to receive the award.

Darlington received the award at the 58th annual National Football Foundation Awards Dinner and College Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony Tuesday night at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
