When Kevin Wilson talks about his 2008 OU offense, he isn’t generic. He is quite specific.
Wilson is Ohio State’s offensive coordinator, and the Buckeyes play Alabama on Monday night for the national championship. Wilson was on Bob Stoops’ Sooner staff from 2002-10, and his ‘08 offense was one of the most prolific in college football history.
During a Big Bowl Zoom conference last week, Wilson talked about his migration from the I formation in the 1980s to the modern football of today, and I asked where that no-huddle offense of the Sooners fit in.
Wilson began telling great stories, about a prediction he made to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit and about Bill Snyder’s endorsement of the OU no-huddle.
