Throughout much of their recruiting, Norman North star Trae Young and the top national player in the 2017 class, Michael Porter Jr., talked about the possibility of playing together in college.
That won't happen, as Young is committed to Oklahoma while Porter Jr. recently committed to Missouri after initially signing with Washington.
But Wednesday night at Chicago's United Center, the longtime AAU teammates had another chance to play together, helping the West to a 109-107 win in the McDonald's All-American Game.
At the end of the game—primarily an offensive exhibition—it was the defense by Young and Porter that made a difference.
