Trae Young strolled into the Santa Fe Family Life Center on Saturday morning to a chorus of second through eighth graders chanting his name.
The Norman native and Atlanta Hawks point guard is hosting his second annual basketball skills camp at the same Oklahoma City gym he worked out in as a kid. Now the courts are painted with his interlocking “TY” logo at midcourt. A “Trae Young Academy” banner hangs on the east wall.
In between addressing campers and dazzling them with dribbling tricks, Young caught up with local media to discuss his rookie season season with the Hawks and his thoughts on the Russell Westbrook trade.
