Late Thursday night, hours after the blockbuster Serge Ibaka trade, the Thunder bought into the draft, snatched the 56th overall pick from Denver — a pick OKC actually traded to the Nuggets in February — and selected Daniel Hamilton.
Hamilton is a 20-year-old, 6-foot-8, 197-pound wing out of UConn, tall but skinny. He averaged 12.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a sophomore last season.
His listed strengths: versatility and playmaking ability. His listed weaknesses: strength and shooting. Hamilton played for former Thunder guard Kevin Ollie, who's the coach at UConn.
