We don't know if this will be the best Phillips 66 Big 12 Basketball Championship ever.
But as things stand now heading to the first games Wednesday at Kansas City's Sprint Center, it certainly looks to be the most competitive.
Entering Saturday's games, the Big 12 had seven teams in the RPI top 25. The first six seeds - Kansas, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor and Iowa State - could win the tournament without it being labeled a huge surprise, based on the regular season. Consider that the No. 3-6 matchup Thursday is Oklahoma-Iowa State, teams that are hoping for a long NCAA run.
