NORMAN — The decision seemed obvious.
It was, but not the way most would've expected.
When Pete Hughes wasn't retained as Oklahoma's baseball coach last June, then-sophomore infielder Thomas Hughes never seriously considered leaving the program that had become his home over the last two seasons.
“I didn't really because I love my teammates,” Thomas Hughes said. “The big things was these guys. They would support me no matter what.”
That isn't to say that the decision was an easy one.
Hughes had dreamed of playing for his father for as long as he could remember and wanted to savor that time in his life for as long as possible.
