ESPN’s Ryan McGee and Mark Schlabach staged a college football conversation back in May. They just chatted among themselves, scattershooting, and then posted the transcript for fans to get a little gridiron fix.
And in the middle of their chat came this nugget from McGee, a charming Southerner who loves NASCAR and college football.
“Look, we don't pull for teams or players; that's not our job,” McGee said. “But it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if (Jalen) Hurts won the Heisman Trophy.”
Hurts, of course, is the quarterback who spent the previous three seasons at Alabama, the first two as a Crimson Tide star and last year as a backup to Tua Tagovailoa.
