Marcus Major Jr. got the notification on his phone, smiled and went back to work.
It was mid-January and Major was just finishing up a workout. At the time, the 6-foot, 200-pound running back from Millwood was fresh off a fantastic junior season that saw him rush for nearly 1,200 yards and 23 touchdowns while helping the Falcons win a second straight Class 2A title.
The notification on his phone came from a tweet Major was mentioned in by his trainer and former University of Oklahoma fullback J.D. Runnels.
“I don't take what I'm about to say lightly,” Runnels tweeted on January 20.
