NEW YORK — Jalen Hurts was a bit tired by the time he strolled into the Marriott Marquis on Friday afternoon.
The lights from Times Square flashed in the distance as the University of Oklahoma quarterback tried to make the most of a whirlwind trip as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
“Kind of enjoying it, soaking it all in,” Hurts said.
Hurts is one of four finalists for the award, which has been won the past two seasons by a Sooner quarterback (Baker Mayfield in 2017 and Kyler Murray last year). However, Hurts is unlikely to make it three in a row for OU, as LSU’s Joe Burrow is expected to take home the honor when it’s presented Saturday night at the PlayStation Theater in Manhattan.
