The Healthy 65 Challenge: Getting back into the running routine

Everything was going great for me Oct. 14.

I was halfway to my goal weight from when I started slowly—but steadily—working on dropping pounds early in the year.

I was running more than I ever had before to the point where it had become ingrained as part of my day. After dinner, after my 4-year-old daughter was in bed for the night, I would get my workout gear on and hit the road, taking advantage of my well-lit neighborhood with plenty of sidewalks to put a few miles in every night.

Was. Would. Past tense.

The night of the 14th, I put in five miles in less than 45 minutes.
