Collected Wisdom of Walt Anderson, Big 12 Coordinator of Officials
Residence: Sugar Land, Texas
Age: 64
Walt Anderson was all set to become a Big 12 official in 1996 before the National Football League called and hired the dentist from Sugar Land, Texas, into its ranks. A decade later, Anderson did finally join the conference as its coordinator of officials while maintaining his job in the NFL.
In both roles, Anderson has found himself in plenty of controversy.
In the NFL, he was the referee for the infamous “Deflategate” game that eventually led to a four-game suspension for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
