Throughout their three games of the Big XII Tournament, the Texas Longhorns have used three different pitchers. Each starting pitcher has collected a complete game win thus far. Freshman Connor Mayes became the most recent of the trio with a complete game shutout on Saturday. The effort helped Longhorns to a 4-0 victory pushing the folks from Austin into the championship game on Sunday.
There's no doubt the Baylor Bears received chances though. During the sixth inning, Mayes loaded the bases on a four-pitch walk. On any other weekend, the freshman may have been pulled. However, the next toss secured a foul out to third keeping the Bears off the board.
