The final College Football Playoff rankings were revealed Sunday, and I’m in no position to criticize, considering the committee produced a top seven exactly like my rankings earlier in the day, with the exception of having Clemson No. 2 and Notre Dame No. 3 (I had the opposite). And the only difference that makes is who wears white in the Cotton Bowl.
Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens, the committee chairman, staged his final teleconference of the season, and like always, I’m sharing the dialogue, along with my reactions.
Mullens began with an opening statement: “The committee spent Friday night and all day Saturday watching the conference championship games together.
