Syracuse's Jim Boeheim has fond memories of Wayman Tisdale -- and not-so-fond memories of facing him

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim was in Oklahoma City on Tuesday for the College Basketball Awards ceremony at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Boeheim was given the Wayman Tisdale Humanitarian Award. It’s been a difficult year for Boeheim, whose team struggled and then was hit hard by NCAA sanctions. The penalties took away 12 scholarships from the Orange, vacated 108 wins and included a nine-game ACC conference game suspension of Boeheim next season. Shortly after the sanctions were announced, Boeheim announced he would retire in three years.

On Tuesday, Boeheim was much more interested in talking about his experiences with Tisdale.
