TULSA — Victory Christian coach Ron Smith knows NCAA Division I football talent when he sees it. He’s seen lots of those players throughout his long career, and remembers seeing it four years ago in Jon-Michael Terry.
“I know it sounds absurd, but you watch him as an eighth grader and you say, ‘This is what a D1 player looks like,’” Smith said. “He’s very talented, very blessed.”
Terry, who committed to Oklahoma in February, is No. 9 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 list of the best 2016 college football prospects in the state. He recorded 103 tackles and 20 sacks last season for Victory Christian as a defensive end and will move to inside linebacker this year.
