NORMAN — Oklahoma baseball coach Skip Johnson said Thursday was a fairly normal day, despite the constant changes going on around him and the team.
“It’s no different than a rainout day,” Johnson said. “It can happen in Omaha, stuff like that. All of a sudden you’re not gonna play.”
But this is no rainout. The Sooners aren’t scheduled to play again until next February after the season was wiped out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Friday, Johnson said, is when things got unusual.
The Sooners were in San Luis Obispo, California, preparing for a four-game series against Cal Poly when they were told the game, the series, and the season was off.
