Stress fracture ends Parker’s spring season

NORMAN — Cornerback Jordan Parker's spring season is over.

The rising sophomore and incumbent starter opposite Jordan Thomas sustained a stress fracture in his left foot during spring practice last week, coach Bob Stoops told the media on Wednesday afternoon.

Parker will be out for eight weeks and is expected to resume work outs in June.

Parker assumed the starting job midway through the 2016 season after the Sooners cycled through a couple of players in that position. Senior Dakota Austin started the season atop the depth chart, but he was quickly replaced by true freshman Parrish Cobb.
