Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight has been granted a full release from coach Bob Stoops in order to seek a transfer, ESPN.com confirmed.
The news was first reported by SoonerScoop.com.
The Sooners will not block Knight from transferring to any FBS school, including those in the Big 12, meaning he would be eligible to play in 2016. Knight is scheduled to graduate this semester.
Knight, who quarterbacked the Sooners to an upset over Alabama in the 2013 Sugar Bowl, was beaten out for the starting job by Baker Mayfield this preseason.
