NORMAN, Okla. -- If Oklahoma's offense had a Twitter account, it would have returned from Kansas State with a little blue checkmark.
There's nothing like a 55-point performance on the road to verify that the right system, right coordinator (Lincoln Riley) and right quarterback (Baker Mayfield) are in place for the Sooners. That's significant in the Big 12, where fast-strike offenses are king, possessions are surging and defensive strategy has been diluted to: You have to make 'em miss a turn.
But verified and arrived are two very different things. Oklahoma coaches and players know that while last week's 55-0 win at Kansas State affirmed they're on the right course, they're nowhere near the destination.
