NORMAN — It had been nearly a year since Nick Basquine last threw a pass in a game.
So last Saturday when the play call came in for Basquine to throw a pass coming off a reverse, the nerves flooded in.
“It’s, ‘OK, snap, here it comes,’” Basquine said this week. “It’s now or never.”
Unlike the pass last year against Kansas State that grazed off CeeDee Lamb’s fingertips before falling incomplete, Basquine came through this time.
He completed a 21-yard pass to Jalen Hurts to give the Sooners first and goal.
“Man, I’m just glad that one got completed,” Basquine said.
