KANSAS CITY, MO. — Even after yet another loss, Oklahoma's Christian James kept talking of a turnaround and of the possibility of Sooners basketball becoming in March what Sooners basketball was in November and December.
“Definitely,” James said after Wednesday's loss to Oklahoma State when asked whether or not Oklahoma belonged in the NCAA Tournament. “I feel like when we do, we're going to shock a lot of people. But we can't take it for granted.”
The Sooners can't afford to take anything for granted entering Selection Sunday.
Where once Oklahoma had sights on earning a spot close to home in Dallas or Wichita with a strong seed, now the Sooners are holding their breath just trying to eek into the field.
