Oklahoma's big recruiting weekend continued with some immediate help Sunday.
The Sooners landed Notre Dame graduate transfer defensive end Jay Hayes after a weekend visit to Norman for the spring game.
Hayes started all 13 games for the Fighting Irish a year ago, recording 27 tackles, 3.5 for loss, a sack, breaking up a pair of passes and recovering a fumble and recording a safety.
The 6-foot-3, 289-pound Hayes played in 26 games for Notre Dame over four seasons, redshirting in 2015 after playing three games as a freshman.
Hayes figures to play a significant role on the defensive line after the Sooners lost starter D.
