Sooners get commit from four-star defensive end

Oklahoma picked up one commitment, then lost another Saturday.

Less than an hour after Lincoln Riley's signature eyeball emoji tweet Saturday morning, four-star defensive end Joseph Wete announced he was a Sooner with a tweet of his own.

Wete, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound product of Gonzaga College High in Washington, D.C., is ranked as Rivals' No. 200 prospect in the 2019 class.

He chose the Sooners over 18 other offers that included Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and West Virginia.

Wete is the third defensive lineman in the class, joining three-star defensive tackle Derek Green and three-star defensive end Kori Roberson.
