Oklahoma coach Pete Hughes had hoped to get through Saturday's Bedlam slate without needing to use Devon Perez.
Perez was scheduled to be the starter in Friday's middle game of the series—and then in the second game of a planned doubleheader that day.
But when Friday ended with just 4 1/2 innings being played and the game suspended, Hughes decided to go with Kyle Tyler for the second game of the series in hopes of saving Perez for next week's Big 12 Tournament.
But Tyler found big trouble in the first thanks to three walks and two hits given up to Oklahoma State's first seven hitters.
