A drunken Oklahoma fan was arrested Saturday morning for trespassing after he broke into the Waco courthouse and claimed he had mistaken it for the Hilton hotel.
Deputies responding to a burglar alarm at the courthouse at 8:15 a.m. found Harold Anthony Schroeder, 35, of Oklahoma City curled up sleeping between the counsel rail and the first row of seats in the 54th State District Courtroom.
Schroeder tried to explain to deputies that he thought he was at the Hilton.
Deputies said Schroeder smelled strongly of alcohol, but McLennan Country Sheriff's Capt. Steve Smith said Schroeder was not charged with burglary of a building because his intent was not to steal anything and he was just looking for a place to sleep.
