Defensive tackle Matt Romar, who started 12 games last season, is in concussion protocol after suffering an injury early in practice.
“I think in day two he went down,” Sooners defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux said. “In those two days, he looked pretty dang good.”
Thibodeaux said he expected Romar to return in time for the game-week preparation for the Sept. 3 opener against Houston at NRG Stadium.
Romar is once again expected to be a big piece in the middle of the Sooners’ defensive line, along with Charles Walker and Matt Dimon up front.
