DALLAS—Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks were promoted to assistant coordinator positions, Sooners coach Bob Stoops announced Tuesday.
Bedenbaugh, who is beginning his fourth season with OU, is now assistant offensive coordinator.
Since Bedenbaugh's arrival, the Sooners have had the two best rushing seasons in Stoops' tenure.
Cooks, entering his second season with the Sooners, is now assistant defensive coordinator. In his first year in Norman, Oklahoma limited opponents to just 202.8 passing yards per game, best in the Big 12. Cooks' defensive backs had 17 of the Sooners' 20 interceptions.
