NORMAN — One of Skip Johnson's favorite moments with Augie Garrido didn't even directly involve him.
In 2014, Johnson — then Texas' pitching coach — watched as the legendary college baseball coaching figure approached Longhorns outfielder Collin Shaw in the clubhouse at Disch-Falk Field.
“Collin, you went 0 for 4,” Garrido said. “When you leave here today, when you go eat with your mom and your dad and your girlfriend, you're gonna lose confidence because you're gonna want out there and say, ‘I went 0 for 4.' Well, here's what happened in your 0 for 4. You had two eight-pitch at-bats.
