Samaje Perine becomes Sooners all-time leading rusher

Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine is the Sooners' all-time leading rusher.

With just more than five minutes left to go in the Sugar Bowl, Perine took a handoff and went around the left side for a 15-yard gain to break Billy Sims' school rushing record that had stood since 1979.

After the play, Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield embraced Perine to congratulate him for the record before Oklahoma fans in attendance gave Perine a standing ovation as his teammates urged them to get louder and louder.

Perine walked off the field and was replaced by Joe Mixon, who gave Perine a hug near the sideline.
