NORMAN — The woman who accused Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson of rape said Friday her faith in the Oklahoma judicial system was diminished when prosecutors chose not to file charges.
"I came forward to authorities with the details of my ordeal after I began to remember terrorizing images, thoughts and feelings from that night," Courtney Thornton, 23, said in a statement released to The Oklahoman.
"My motives for coming forward are pure. My body was violated when I was unable to give consent. I had no desire for anything but criminal justice," she said.
Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn and his first assistant, Susan Caswell, announced at a news conference Thursday that no criminal charges will be filed.
